Eser OzdilSecretary General at PETFORM
Eser Özdil currently works as Secretary General at the Petroleum and Natural Gas Platform Association (PETFORM) based in Ankara, Turkey. PETFORM is regarded the most influential sectoral organization in Turkish oil and gas industry gathering 50 member companies varying from multinationals to Turkish conglomerates. Mr. Özdil joined PETFORM in 2012. As part of his professional portfolio, Eser Özdil has been coordinating communication and public relations strategies of PETFORM. He chaired the 'TRGas-Hub' project, EU-funded 2-year project coordinated by PETFORM with partnership of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, EFET and ICIS Heren. The project was selected as the “Best Project of 2013” by the Ministry of EU of the Republic of Turkey and contributed gas trading hub strategy of Turkey. Representing a stakeholder in the region, PETFORM, Eser Özdil participated various official meetings of Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) initiative - an intergovernmental dialogue institution for the region. The UfM includes Energy and Climate Action as one of its platforms, with a focus on gas. This platform has acted as a launch-pad for EU-facilitated regional dialogue and cooperation. Mr. Özdil has been asked to speak at various energy gatherings all around the world mostly focusing on E&P sector, energy security and geopolitical risks, natural gas market and hub development. Eser Özdil is an ardent supporter of Turkey’s plans to have a liberalized natural gas market and to become a natural gas trading hub. He is also a columnist at Energy IQ, sole biweekly Turkish Energy Market Report widely read among energy circles in Turkey and in the region. Ozdil earned a Bachelor degree in International Relations in 2009 at Karadeniz Technical University, Master Degrees at Centre International de Formation Européenne in 2010 and at İstanbul Bilgi University in 2011.
