Dr. Ikonnikova is a Senior Energy Economist and a head of the multi-disciplinary team of economists, engineers, and geoscientists, at the Bureau of Economic Geology (BEG), University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Ikonnikova holds PhD in Economics and Management (the Humboldt University of Berlin), MS in Applied Physics and Mathematics (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology) and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Catholic University of Leuven studying energy, transport, and environmental economics before joining the BEG in 2008. Her current research focuses on the long-term capability of the U.S. unconventional resources to contribute to natural gas and oil supply.
