Walter BoltzBoard Member at ACER Board of Appeal
Walter Boltz is a Senior Advisor on European Energy. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the Gas and Electricity Market and in Regulation of the European energy sector and currently supports his clients in successfully navigating the ever more complex business and regulatory environment in Europe. He is Chair of the Supervisory Board of PSJC MGU, the Ukrainian Gas Transmission Operator, as well as a member of the ACER Board of Appeal, member of the ERRA Strategic Advisory Council as well as member of the Electric Power Research Institute in the US (EPRI´s) Advisory Council. Walter is former Vice-Chair of the ACER Board of Regulators and Vice-President of CEER. Walter headed the Austrian Regulatory Authority E-Control Austria for 15 years and was directly responsible for electricity, gas, consumer affairs as well as international relations. Furthermore, he chaired the European Regulators Gas Working Groups for many years. In this period important pieces of energy legislation were discussed, developed and implemented. Under his auspices both editions of the Gas Target Model as well as all framework guidelines and gas network codes were developed.
