Dag McGeorgeSenior Principal Engineer, Riser Technology at DNV GL
Dag McGeorge has more than 25 years of experience with DNV GL (formerly DNV) from research, third party services and consultancy.
He holds and M.Sc. in marine structures from NTNU, and has since specialized in high performance structures using light-weight and corrosion resistant fiber reinforced composite materials and technology qualification when novel designs and solutions exceed industry experience and design code ranges. He has applied technology qualification methodologies to a wide range of innovative concepts and designs, and captured industry experience in DNV GL’s recommended practice A203 for technology qualification, which is now the de facto industry standard for qualification of new technologies within the offshore industry.
He is currently working in the Riser Technology section of DNV GL, with focus on novel riser concepts that utilize carbon fibre composites for weight saving and corrosion resistance and establishing standards for such riser concepts.
