Bernardo Silva was appointed Executive President of ABBI in January 2015. Previously, he worked for the World Economic Forum in Cologny, Switzerland, overseeing corporate affairs and the organization's agenda in South America. He also acted in who spent 15 years with government relations and led mobilization and advocacy activities by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrazil) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) in Brasilia, Brazil.
Bernardo holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from the Fufcher School of Law and Diplomacy, from Tufts University, a Master's in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum, and an MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). He was also the first Brazilian to be accepted as a Global Leadership Fellow by the World Economic Forum in 2011. In 2017 he was elected by the editorial board of Biofuels Digest (the world's largest bioeconomics news channel) as one of the 100 most influential personalities of the global advanced bioeconomy, occupying the 51st position in its latest edition.
